Re Kitchen Aid, mine is about 5 years old and I have never had a problem with it. Ever. I totally love it. Some days it makes 100 cupcakes and frosting it doesn't skip a beat. It may get a little warm, that's all.
It not only makes great cakes, but I also love the dough hook for bread and pizza bases. I haven't got any attachments (yet!) but would love the ice cream maker.
I can't recommend it highly enough! If you're lucky enough to be thinking of buying one, I wouldn't hesitate, a great investment. And they look gorgeous to boot!
